I started this web site to put all of our Cape May County American Legions in Communication and accomplished it ! I am very proud of what I did ! Many do not know where you are, nor what is going on, not just in Cape May County, but those that visit this site from all over the World. This can help us get new members also...If any member can help by sending me photos, messages, meeting dates, or activities in YOUR POST please do so. There is another individual in North Jersey..Sussex County trying to do what we have and is up against a wall as am I. I can't do it all, but with a group effort we can make this the best American Legion County Web Site there is in the USA.

American Legion is the largest veteran's organization in the world, with a membership of more than 2.8 million wartime veterans in the United States, District of Columbia and seven foreign countries and growing
Members of The American Legion are honorably discharged men and women who served their country on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States during World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama and Persian Gulf Wars and other Conflicts.
The American Legion was founded and organized in 1919. Since that time, The American Legion has touched virtually every facet of American life, fulfilling its main objective of service to the community, state and nation.
Last year: 2006 and still more has been done with Pride for our Country!
The American Legion joined with the Children's Miracle Network to raise nearly $2 million dollars for CMN. Other needy children and families received more than $7 million in cash and gifts from The American Legion Posts. Legion Posts provided nearly $2 million in emergency aid to veterans last year. Deserving high school students were awarded $4 million in college scholarships. Over $21 million was spent by The American Legion and its affiliated organizations for the benefit of children and youth last year. Local charity campaigns received over $10 million in donations from local American Legion Posts. Legionnaires across the country donate more than a million hours each year in the Veteran's Administration "Voluntary Service Program," helping patients in VA Medical Facilities.
Legion members donated over 2 million hours of service to their communities. The American Legion has also, for many years, conducted programs that have been designed to benefit the youth of our nation. Some of these programs are High School Oratorical Contest American Legion Boys State and Boys Nation Eagle Scout Scholarships Scholarship Information Booklets Junior Shooting Sports Program American Legion Child Welfare Foundation Temporary Financial Assistance National Emergency Fund American Legion Baseball American Education Week Flag Education Substance Abuse Prevention Special Olympics Missing Children Teen Suicide Prevention Family Support Network
